How To Manage A Close Up Magic Audience | Magic Stuff With Craig Petty

It’s Thursday which means it is time for another Magic Stuff. This is Craig’s chance to talk about an aspect of magic he is passionate about.

We have had a lot of our subscribers contact us and ask if we can produce more videos about Audience Management (especially in a close up magic environment). We have thought long and hard about how we could do this and we decided the best way would be to do a deep dive on one of Craig’s live performances.

In this video Craig analyses one of his walk around performances from a Wedding booking. This is a very interesting video to look at as Craig is surrounded and has spectators looking from every direction.

In this video Craig performs a Card Under Box routine with a card to wallet and card in phone kicker. There are a lot of complicated sleights used in this routine and watching the video is a great way to see how Craig handles these sleights in the ‘real world’.

The video starts with an introduction from Craig followed by the love performance video. Craig then replays the performance but with a commentary track over the top of the video explaining what he is doing and when. Finally Craig wraps everything up by talking about the main points to learn from the performance.

If you are close up magician and want to learn more about audience management this is a great video to watch and learn from.

Let us know in the comments what you think and pleas don’t forget to subscribe to the channel.
